Billy Mode comes from Baltimore, USA. He emerged as a graffiti artist in 1986. Although he has a BFA in Painting from Maryland Institute College of Art, he credits graffiti art as his formal training. Billy Mode had a constant presence in the Baltimore Street Art scene until around 2000. Between 2004-2006 he did a residency at School 33 in Baltimore and he is active in the local arts community.

Billy Modes works explore psychological, political, and spiritual issues and the bold, graphic imagery is created in response to a reality of human repression, poverty, and the challenges that exist within urbanized communities. Through his work the artist shows a strong commitment in creating work which also reflects a desire to exist in a better world.

Billy Mode has exhibited extensively throughout the United States and his work has been featured in publications such as "Graffiti World".
